swimwear: H & M

H&M is killing it on the swimwear front. I walked in the store today and begged for any justification to buy at least 5 swim suits... Here are my favorites:

wanting: zara maxis

i want nothing more than to get my hands on some chiffon-y, flow-y maxi skirts from zara for this spring. having a floor length skirt is great for so many reasons: 1. no one has to be subjected to by pasty legs that haven't seen sunlight for 4 months, 2. it protects from slight chilliness while still be airy, and 3. it goes with heels, boots, sandals and flats. they're just perfect for transitioning between the seasons!

wanting: rings for days

i just love rings. a good ring, especially if people look at your hands at lot (i.e. retail), will always bring the compliments. plus my hand/fingers simply feel empty without one or two...or five on. as for the people who find themselves needing to gift me something: when in doubt, put a ring on it.
1. i wish i knew where this ring is from, but here's what i found to be closest: this and this. 2. huge rough cut diamond - it's an engagement ring so it's major $$$$, but not very refined for wedding ring material, no? just me? 3. hammered stacking rings from etsy. 4. skinny + stackable bands from an etsy seller - is it obvious i love stackable rings?
also, favorite places i love shopping for rings (and they're all much less expensive): 1. texas glad rags (vintage), silverdale, wa. 2. buffalo exchange (recycles clothing; sometimes the jewelry isn't). 3. etsy.com (unique, one-of-a-kind, and oftentimes doesn't break the bank!). 4. anywhere in italy (haha, sorry) - with several markets everywhere it's not finding the ring that's difficult, it's haggling that price down !!

effortlessness

i don't really have any particular reason to post this or really even have to say about this picture, i just think she's beautiful. big knit sweater, maybe a little bit of tint on her lips, hair nonchalantly gathered on her head... just effortless. plus, i love how the sartorialist captured her.

here's to beautiful captured moments at your valentine's day festivities.

Droolworthy: the retro aviator

Bonlook holds the key to my vintagechicnerdglasses heart. $99 for a pair of prescription glasses? Let's just say I've spent more... I think it's well worth the investment, especially considering I'm practically blind without glasses or contacts so vision becomes a tad invaluable. Therefore, I needs these glasses.

Winter is Coming: but what about la Primavera?

I know everyone's gearing up for the ever-colder months ahead, but can we pause for a moment and swoon over springtime? I am loving the Spring '12 collection by Heidi Merrick:
Pop of neon...nude...and lace. That's a recipe for some triple-threat madness this spring. I may be able to afford this designer, but I know where my inspiration will be coming from!

Madewell Coat

Happy Monday,
Just bought this superwarm jacket from madewell,

it's getting colder and colder in these parts of Seattle and a girl just wants to be comfortable and cozy, not too much to ask for right? I can't wait to get it in the mail; receiving a package is half the fun for me. The forgotten present that arrives a week later.

Favorite Things: summer loves

1. KORRES Guava body cream: 93% ALL natural, and let's face it that's pretty damn good these days. After Italy my sad skin is becoming happier againe.

2. Water: I like to stay moist, ya know; and by moist I mean hydrated during the summer "heat" (that's a big fat joke because it's awful in the Pacific Northwest this "summer", but still). Anyway, regardless of the temperature one should always drink the river juice, as they say, however bottled water is just not worth it. I'm drinking filtered tap water, because it's cheaper and the same as bottled water minus the bullshit (: In Italy wherever we went we had to ask for water at restaurants and then pay for the bottled water we'd receive and I just felt awful. So, appreciate you're free iced water here, people and know that people go without water everyday - tap or otherwise.

3. Cee Lo's well done (it's not meat) remix of No One's Gonna Love You by The Band of Horses: this is my road trip to San Fran daydreaming music.

4. Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival - one of the best (other than Sasquatch, which is a less accessible, more expensive, financially and time-wise, roughin' it type of music fest) music festivals around here. It's in the city, so people from all over the state easily flock here once every summer to enjoy good food, great art, and superb musical performances among other things.

5. Fekkai Coiff Spray: Do my hair? Are you joking? Besides, messy sex on the beach hair is my all-year-rounb, baby.

6. Italia: I don't really need to expand on this one, but I will. A tad. Ok, so I was in Italy in the springtime however any season is the perfect season to be in Italy in my personal opinion.

i'm not fucking around people

Ahh Samantha Pleet with do you and Urban Outfitters taunt me so? Your officer's coat is all I want for Christmas. Well, I think we can both guess that's not true, but it's seriously seriously on top. And it's all I think about! That and Betsey Johnson's leopard watch. Anyway. I'm tormented that I can find this coat of perfection NOWHERE.

We're sorry. This product is no longer available.

This is NOT okay. I'm not okay. How the f am I supposed to pass finals?! Roman art?... What about the art of amazingness?
